Vintage stoneware handled plate from Japan. The sticker is still intact but information worn away. It is in the style of Otagiri.
Otagiri Manufacturing Company was an importer of Japanese stoneware and ceramics between 1958 and 1994. Although Otagiri is the name of a company, the term is often used to describe a style of stoneware that was sold in West Coast department stores and souvenir shops. Particularly popular with collectors are the Polynesian-themed pieces. Measures 7 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 1 1/4 in tall. A plate like this is perfect for serving crackers or a cheese ball, great for your Autumn table.
