These delightful heavy wood carvings are actually from Mexico. They really have an Italianate, Venician look. There is a mansion in Sarasota, FL, called the Ca'd'Zan, which was the winter home of John Ringling. He loved Venice so much, he designed his home like it, importing even a gondola.
