Heavy brass footed planter/Cachepot from Hong Kong. Please note vintage patina is to be expected from metal pieces. On each hexagon panel there is engraved scenes: bamboo, tiger,deer,cranes, swans and an eagle which represent Chinese symbolism. For example, the tiger is full of life and embodies the spirit of drive and achievement...This style with the cut outs is called pierced brass. Measures 6 1/4 tall X 8 in across total, however inside pot is 5 1/2 X 6 3/4, cache pots are meant to hide the pot inside. There is a flaw on two top edges, but does not effect functionality or beauty of this piece.
