This silent butler is from Italy, circa 1930s. There is a tiny bit of discoloration on top pictured. It could be used for candies, a stash/trinket box if you don't typically scrape crumbs from the tabletop while dining. Measures 10 1/4 in long to end of handle x 5 1/2 wide x 1 in tall
My husband and I found this at a market outside Modena in Italy. I wonder if the crown, is a family crest?
