I love that this hand forged platter has the such beautiful details, the beautiful etched flowers and fluted edge. It stands up off the table for a varied height when serving. Aluminum was the rage between the late 50's into the 1960's. It was the working man's silver, since it was affordable and was a popular gift for new bride or hostess. I missed out, the sixties had such style with entertaining. I try to mimic that style with adding panache to serving even the simplest of foods, just by lovely presentation. This bowl measures 8 1/4 X 2 in tall
