I love that this hand forged platter has the such beautiful details, the beautiful etched flowers on the inside as well as along the outside edge. Aluminum was the rage between the late 50's into the 1960's. It was the working man's silver, since it was affordable and was a popular gift for new bride or hostess. I missed out, the sixties had such style with entertaining. I try to mimic that style with adding panache to serving even the simplest of foods, just by lovely presentation. Aluminum pieces still are very affordable, and you can set a beautiful buffet since so many of the pieces are different sizes and heights. This bowl measures 10 X 2 1/4 in tall
