Otagiri was produced and painted by hand by a group of artists hired to design and create pieces. Otagiri started manufacturing pieces in the 1950s, Authentic Otagiri can be identified by a gold and yellow sticker or the stamp "Otagiri Japan." This set of 5, (one broke after taking photos) are lovely porcelain, with gold rim, all intact, no chips or crazing.
This set of Japanese sake/tea cup set would make a lovely gift, or for the collector of highly sought after Otigari porcelain china. I have seen these lovely cups (only 4) for over $50 on other internet sites
